The exit sings serve for marking the exit doors. Additionally, some of the sings illuminate the floor in the exit resp. entrance area. The signs can be used during normal flight operation and in case of emergency situation.
In an aircraft, the Passengers Information Signs are intended to notify information or instruction to passengers and crew (no smoking, return to seat, etc…).
